A Yahrzeit is the Jewish date of someone close to you who has passed away.
Please provide either provide the information below, or you can complete this information online within your account once your membership has been completed. We will advise you in advance of their Yahrzeit each year and provide the opportunity to remember your loved one by having their name read out at an appropriate Shul Service.
For each person that you would like to be notified of a Yahrzeit please provide: Name of deceased, their Hebrew name, their relationship to you, which applicant, English date of death, before sundown

If you pay by Direct Debit you will be notified in advance of the first payment and then any changes to the amount collected
If you are planning to pay your membership fees by Direct Debit in 10 monthly installments from February to November please find and complete the Direct Debit Mandate here

- Copy of birth certificate, passport or driving licence for each applicant (including children) as proof of age
- Copy of ketubah (Jewish marriage certificate) or other proof of Jewish status (parent's ketubah or conversion certificates are of course acceptable), if you do not have these documents our Rabbis or Cantor will happy to help you to find an alternative

- If an applicant has been a previous member of EHRS then this information may not required
Your support is incredibly important to us. We will use your contact details to administer your EHRS membership, send you regular membership news by email and post, and invite you to events and services for members.
We would also like to keep in touch with occasional updates on the Synagogue’s activities. For example how we work with and support the local community, our education and cultural enrichment programme, volunteering, ways to support our work, and other events and opportunities you might be interested in.
Where possible we will communicate with you by email, but we may sometimes want to contact you by post or phone. If you would rather not hear from us, or would like to change how we contact you, please get in touch by emailing admin@ehrs.uk or call 020 8238 1000.

We ask members between the ages of 18 and 70 to support our community by volunteering for Security on a Shabbat morning twice a year when convenient for you. You will be part of a team, never alone and previous experience is welcomed but not necessary and training will be provided on the shift by CST senior volunteers.
By submitting this application form I/we apply for Membership at Edgware & Hendon Reform Synagogue in accordance with the Laws of The Synagogue (available on request) and confirm that all persons named on this form are of the Jewish faith (unless detailed above).

Membership of Edgware & Hendon Reform Synagogue incorporates membership of the Join Jewish Burial Society for you and any children under the age of 21 whose names are given on this application form. This covers basic funeral costs for both cremation (normally at Golders Green Crematorium) or burial at the Western Cemetery, Bullscross Ride, Cheshunt, EN7 5PH. Full funeral cover will not apply until you have been a synagogue member for six months.

EHRS offers an Associate Membership for the non-Jewish spouse or partner of its members. This also includes funeral rights through the Joint Jewish Burial Society for cremation or mixed faith burial at The Western Cemetery.

Burial in the Woodlands section is available at an extra cost.
